Agartala, May 14: In yet another tragic road mishap, one youth died on spot while two other friends critically injured after their scooter collided with a 4-wheeler vehicle at Palatana Shitlabari area on Wednesday.
The incident took place after one Jayanta Debnath along with his two other friends Pranakrishna Giri and Sagar Debnath was travelling through Palatana Shitlabari area with their scooter. The scooter collided with a 4-wheeler vehicle which was coming from the opposite direction.
The incident claimed the life of rider Jayanta Debnath, while other two friends sustained serious injuries. Alarmed by the incident, police accompanied by the locals rushed the injured youths to Gomati district hospital. Pranakrishna Giri was later shifted to Agartala GBP Hospital in critical condition.
Driver of the 4-wheeler vehicle remained absconding. Police is presently searching for the driver. The incident triggered panic among the locals.
