Agartala: Mar 28: The Tripura State Tribal Liberation Council (GMP) has formally requested the dismissal of Minister Ratan Lal Nath from the cabinet. In a letter addressed to Governor Indrasena Reddy, the GMP expressed strong condemnation of the minister’s actions during a legislative assembly session on March 24.

The incident occurred during a discussion on a corruption case involving the family of a ruling party minister. Minister Nath reportedly raised issues of caste-based harassment and issued threats to the opposition leader who was criticizing him. The GMP stated that this behavior deeply insulted democratic individuals, particularly tribal communities, and marked an unprecedented instance of caste-based conduct in the history of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.

The council emphasized that the minister’s actions have tarnished the dignity of the assembly and called for his immediate removal from the cabinet.
