Agartala: April 18:  Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA Deepak Majumdar issued a stern warning against obstructions in developmental projects, stating that such actions will not be tolerated. He emphasized that if such interference persists, the corporation will be compelled to pursue legal action.

The Mayor made these remarks during an inspection of the ongoing cover drain construction work from IGM Chowmuhani to Orient Chowmuhani, a project under the Agartala Smart City initiative. The construction work is aimed at addressing waterlogging issues in the city during natural disasters.

Mayor Majumdar alleged that former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman and his family have been obstructing the construction work. According to the Mayor, engineers were prevented from performing their tasks at the site several days ago, which prompted his visit to assess the situation.

Addressing these allegations, the Mayor stated that any attempts to disrupt government work, regardless of the individual’s status, would result in appropriate legal action. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of developmental projects for the benefit of the public.
