Retired Justice Arindam Lodh Appointed as Chairperson of Tripura Human Rights Commission

Agartala: April 30: Retired Justice Arindam Lodh, formerly of the Tripura High Court, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Tripura Human Rights Commission. The appointment was made by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu for a tenure of three years.

According to an official notification, the appointment was made under Section 22, Sub-section (1) of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. Justice Lodh will serve for a period of three years or until he reaches the age of 70, whichever comes first.

The Tripura Human Rights Commission plays a crucial role in addressing human rights concerns and ensuring the protection of fundamental rights in the state. Justice Lodh’s leadership is expected to contribute to the commission’s ongoing efforts in safeguarding human rights.
