Agartala: May 04: Member of Parliament from West Tripura (Lok Sabha) and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday emphasized the significant reforms in the education sector since the BJP-led government took office in 2018.
As part of his ongoing *Transforming Tripura* series on social media, Deb pointed to the introduction of the NCERT curriculum across government schools as a key milestone aimed at enhancing the quality and practicality of education. He noted that this shift has aligned Tripura’s education system with national standards, enabling students to compete more effectively in secondary and higher secondary examinations, as well as national-level competitive and entrance tests.
Reflecting on past policies, Deb criticized the previous administration, stating that school curricula were influenced by political considerations. He argued that, instead of focusing on national heroes, thinkers, and Tripura’s royal lineage, the syllabus was often shaped to promote a particular ideology.
Deb highlighted that with the implementation of the revised National Education Policy and the adoption of the NCERT syllabus, students in Tripura now have access to a more comprehensive and competitive academic framework. He expressed optimism that these reforms would continue to benefit students in the state.
