Agartala: May 05: On Monday, job-seeking youths staged a protest and submitted a deputation to the Inspector General (IG), urging the completion of the pending jail police recruitment examination.

According to one of the aspirants, the recruitment process for 249 jail warden positions was initiated in 2022 with an interview notification. However, the procedure was put on hold due to election-related announcements, and no further updates have been provided for over two years. Despite submitting nearly 20 deputations in the past three years, the job seekers have not received a satisfactory response.

In light of the prolonged delay, the protesters formally presented their deputation to the IG of jail police, emphasizing the need for immediate action. They have also appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene and expedite the recruitment process.
