Agartala: May 25: Following the Chief Minister’s recent financial aid to the bereaved family in Chanmari, opposition leader Jitendra Choudhury has called for similar support for families affected by previous child fatalities.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Choudhury acknowledged the Chief Minister’s humanitarian gesture and expressed gratitude for the assistance provided. However, he highlighted past incidents, including the deaths of two children in Ramsundar Para, Mohanpur sub-division, and a nine-year-old child in Kaladepa, Sabroom, in June last year. According to Choudhury, the families of these victims have yet to receive government aid.

The opposition leader emphasized that just as the Chanmari family received financial assistance, the affected families in Ramsundar Para and Kaladepa should also be considered for similar support. He formally conveyed this request to the Chief Minister through an official letter, urging equal attention to all child fatalities and advocating for government intervention.

Choudhury’s remarks have sparked discussions in political and social circles, with many closely observing the government’s response to his appeal. The call for broader financial assistance has brought renewed focus to the need for consistent support for families facing such tragedies.
