Agartala, May 29: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Thursday inaugurated the event of 1st Convocation of Maharaja Bir Bikram University here at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan and urged upon the students to use technology with caution and awareness.

Addressing the gathering of students, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said that the pace of technological development is unprecedented at present, which is changing the shape of lives every moment. But we have to accept these technologies with caution and awareness, he added.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha along with Justice of Tripura High Court T Amarnath Goud and others were also present in the event.

“Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya was a true progressive person. He understood that the future of the state depends on the modernization of education,” Governor said, adding that technology changes with time. But learning skills and values ​​​​remain eternal. The Governor called on everyone to work for the development of the state with spirit, determination, rich diversity and culture.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that the government has taken the initiative to develop Maharaja Bir Bikram University as an advanced university with overall quality. In this regard, the government is moving forward with a far-reaching plan.

He said, the convocation ceremony is a special moment in the life of degree-winning students.

“Earlier, students from abroad used to come to study at Nalanda University in our country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously trying to revive this tradition of education. Based on the traditional culture, tradition and tradition of our country, a new National Education Policy has been launched after many years,” Dr Saha said.

He said that India’s contribution in mathematics, science, yoga and philosophy is still recognized worldwide. The new National Education Policy-2020 has integrated this glorious tradition into the modern curriculum, he added.

The Chief Minister said that the use of technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made education more effective and accessible.
