Teliamura, June 6: The Tipra Women Federation (TWF), the women’s wing of the Tipra Motha Party, celebrated its 4th foundation day on Friday with much enthusiasm at the Chitrangada Kala Kendra (Town Hall) in Teliamura. The event was jointly organized by the three assembly constituencies of Krishnapur, Teliamura, and Kalyanpur under the Teliamura subdivision.

The celebration witnessed the presence of several key leaders including Executive Member (EM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Kamal Kalai, former minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia, Tipra Motha’s Krishnapur Block President Mahendra Debbarma, and TWF Central Committee General Secretary Geeta Rani Debbarma, among others.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, EM Kamal Kalai highlighted the significance of the foundation day and recalled that the TWF was established four years ago under the guidance and vision of Tipra Motha Supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma. He stated that the foundation day was made memorable through various programs and community activities.

To mark the occasion, the organizers conducted a symbolic thread distribution ceremony among women, signifying unity and empowerment. The event also featured cultural performances, speeches by leaders, and discussions on the progress and role of women in the socio-political development of the indigenous community.

Kamal Kalai praised the continuous efforts of TWF in promoting women’s participation in politics and community development. He added that the organization has played a vital role in mobilizing women across the state and empowering them at the grassroots level.

The foundation day celebration not only commemorated the formation of TWF but also reflected the growing influence of women in Tripura’s regional political landscape under the leadership of Tipra Motha.
