Agartala, June 12: A complaint was lodged against the CPI(M) MLA Nayan Sarkar over harassing a woman of Bamutia online through mobile phone.

The incident has come to the limelight after a woman of Bamutia assembly constituency filed a written complaint against the MLA Nayan Sarkar. She alleged that the MLA had asked her to go abroad with him to stay for a night in Guwahati. She also said that MLA Nayan Sarkar over telephonic conversation asked about her husband’s profession.

“When I refused his proposal, he threatened me saying that I cannot live in Bamutia if I refuse his proposal,” the women said, the video of which went viral in social media.

Responding to the allegation, MLA Nayan Sarkar in his social media handle disagreed with the statement of the woman and stated that conspiracies are being hatched against him. He however challenged the woman to show evidence of the telephonic conversation.

MLA Nayan Sarkar filed a counter complaint with the cybercrime branch police to challenge the women, who brought allegation against him.
