Teliamura, June 19 — The CPIM Teliamura Regional Committee on Wednesday submitted a deputation to the Chief Executive Officer of the Teliamura Municipal Council, highlighting a range of civic issues affecting local residents. The deputation outlined a 10-point charter of demands aimed at improving basic infrastructure and public services within the municipal area.
Prior to submitting the deputation, party members organized a rally from the CPIM divisional office, marching through the town and culminating in a street corner meeting near Ampi Chowhamuni on National Highway-8. During the gathering, speakers raised pressing concerns over deteriorating road conditions, non-functional drainage systems, and acute water scarcity in several wards.
Among the key demands were the immediate repair of the severely damaged road from Ampi Chowhamuni to the Forest Range Office via the Sub-Divisional Hospital, restoration of the broken traffic signal at Ampi Chowhamuni, and comprehensive repair of roads and drains across all municipal wards. The CPIM also called for regular water supply twice a day and the provision of free water to BPL and Antyodaya families.
Additional demands included free cremation services at the Teliamura crematorium and availability of essential medicines at the Janaushadhi counter in the Sub-Divisional Hospital.
The deputation was submitted by a five-member CPIM delegation comprising divisional secretary Subhash Nath, regional secretary Bijoy Modak, and divisional committee member Subir Sen, among others.
According to CPIM leaders, Teliamura Municipal Council CEO Parimal Majumder gave a patient hearing and assured that necessary actions would be taken to address the issues raised.
The CPIM has vowed to continue monitoring the situation and push for timely redressal to ensure improved civic amenities for residents of Teliamura.
