Baikhora, June 19 — Chief Monk of ISKCON Tripura, Prabhu Premadatta Das, on Wednesday firmly refuted all allegations leveled against Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das, the head of the Baikhora ISKCON-run Jagannath Jiu Temple. During his visit to Baikhora, the senior monk addressed the ongoing controversy and clarified ISKCON’s official stance.
The allegations emerged after a youth named Kritimoy Aslong launched a social media campaign accusing Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das—popularly known as Kartik Prabhu—of character flaws and financial irregularities. The campaign included posts and media advertisements, with some claims suggesting that the Baikhora temple had no affiliation with ISKCON.
Premadatta Das dismissed these claims as baseless and clarified that the advertisements were the result of manipulation. “The ads were not issued voluntarily by ISKCON. This misinformation is aimed at damaging the reputation of a dedicated spiritual leader,” he stated.
He lauded Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das for his sincere efforts in revitalizing the Baikhora Jagannath Jiu Temple. “Years ago, the temple near the Baikhora police station was in poor condition. It was handed over to ISKCON, and under Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das’s leadership, the temple has been transformed and gained statewide recognition,” he said.
He further noted that the temple’s Rath Yatra is now the second most important in Tripura, reflecting its spiritual and cultural significance.
Currently, the temple is undergoing renovations under Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das’s guidance. Sources close to the temple allege that some individuals, unhappy with the development, are attempting to derail the upcoming Rath Yatra by spreading false information.
With this clarification, ISKCON has reaffirmed its support for the Baikhora temple and its leadership.
