Agartala, June 24 — A decomposed body of an unidentified individual was recovered from the Bangeshwar River this morning, prompting concern in the Ghoshpara area of Pratapgarh. Local residents, upon detecting a foul odor, discovered the body near the riverbank and immediately informed the police.

Law enforcement officials retrieved the remains and sent them for a post-mortem examination. Preliminary reports indicate that the body was in a severely decomposed and mutilated condition, with some limbs reportedly detached.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation. As of now, the identity of the deceased remains unknown.

The incident has drawn significant attention from the local community, although authorities have yet to confirm any possible foul play.
