Agartala, June 24: Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA Dipak Majumder on Tuesday chaired a crucial meeting held here in the conference hall of AMC on scenario of HIV/AIDS with emphasis on AMC area.
The meeting involved discussions on the current state of the epidemic, treatment and prevention strategies, and efforts to reach the UN’s goal of ending AIDS by 2030.
In the meeting, the Mayor said that special health and awareness camps will be held in all the AMC wards to take the campaign of Drug-free Tripura in every door-step. He expressed his concern over the rising rate of HIV/AIDS and said that injectable drugs are the main cause of HIV infection.
