June, June 24: The state Animal Resource Development Department and Fishery Minister Sudhangshu Das on Tuesday chaired a district-level review meeting of his department at Dharmanagar in North Tripura district and emphasised on timely execution of the government schemes.
Minister Das stated that all departmental schemes must be implemented within stipulated timelines so that a larger section of the population can be benefited. He stressed the need for responsible work from officials, saying, “We must understand which projects should be implemented at what time to maximize their impact. Prioritizing and timely execution is crucial.”
MLA Binay Bhushan Das, MLA Jadab Lal Debnath, and MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath, including chairpersons of all four Panchayat Samitis in the district, BAC Chairman, Chairperson of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Mitali Rani Das Sen, Vice-Chairperson of North Tripura Zilla Parishad Bhabatosh Das, Secretary of Fisheries and Animal Resource Development Department Deepa D. Nair, Director of ARDD Dr. Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, District Magistrate of North Tripura Chandni Chandran, Director of SC Welfare Department Jayanta Dey, SDMs of Dharmanagar and Panisagar, and other district-level officials including BDOs from all eight blocks were present in the meeting.
The minister assessed achievements for the financial year 2024–25. Under the Fisheries Assistant Scheme, 174 beneficiaries received support, while 1,600 people benefited from the Mukhya Mantri Matsa Sampad Yojana. A total of 653 fish farmers applied for loans under KCC (Kisan Credit Card). Additionally, water testing was conducted for 1,537 fish farmers, and soil testing was carried out for 87 farmers.
