Agartala: July 02: Tripura is set to witness a significant political development as the state cabinet is scheduled to expand on Thursday under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha. The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan in Agartala.

According to sources, Nalchar MLA Kishore Barman is expected to be inducted into the cabinet during this expansion. Barman, who has gained recognition for his growing influence and organizational capabilities within the ruling party, is likely to be assigned the Education Department, a key portfolio in the state government.

In a consequential political reshuffle, MLA Rampada Jamatia is being considered to fill Kishore Barman’s organizational position, should Barman officially take on ministerial responsibilities. Jamatia, known for his grassroots connection and active engagement with tribal communities, may be given additional responsibilities within the party structure.

This cabinet expansion comes at a time when the government is looking to further streamline its administrative focus and strengthen its outreach ahead of future electoral milestones. Sources indicate that the reshuffle aims to balance representation, enhance governance, and utilize the skills of legislators more effectively.

The oath-taking ceremony is expected to be attended by senior officials, party leaders, and other dignitaries. Security and protocol arrangements are already being put in place for the event at Raj Bhavan.

As anticipation builds, political observers are closely watching the move, which could mark the beginning of further changes in Tripura’s administrative and political landscape. The inclusion of new faces in the cabinet is likely to bring fresh energy to the government’s functioning while also addressing regional and political equations within the state.
