Agartala, July 6:
Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma met Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Sunday for a closed-door meeting at Raj Bhavan. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Pradyot confirmed that several important matters were discussed, though he declined to share specific details, terming it a “private conversation.”
“The Governor invited me, and I responded to his call. We discussed several critical issues, and he listened attentively and offered valuable advice,” Pradyot said. However, when pressed about the key topics, he refrained from disclosing them, stating that it was a personal meeting not meant for public discussion.
Despite his reticence on the specifics of the discussion, Pradyot voiced deep concern over the growing issue of illegal infiltration and unlawful activities in Tripura. He stressed that the problem is not limited to the state alone but affects the entire Northeast and poses a threat to national security.
“Illegal infiltration and related activities are on the rise. This is a serious concern for Tripura, the Northeast, and the country as a whole,” he said. He called on all political parties, regardless of affiliation, to unite in tackling these issues for the sake of the next generation. “If we fail to act now, we will be doing a grave injustice to our children. This is bigger than politics — it is about securing a better future,” he added.
The meeting comes amid rising tensions between Tipra Motha and its ally BJP over the delayed implementation of the Tiprasa Accord and inadequate action on border security. Pradyot’s outreach to the Governor adds another layer to the unfolding political developments in the state.
