Agartala, July 10: The two-day West Tripura District-level Kishori Utkarsh Manch program began today at the SCERT Auditorium. Inaugurating the event, Chief Whip of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and MLA Kalyani Saha Roy emphasized that every child is born with unique innate qualities, and it is the joint responsibility of both families and teachers to help develop those talents.

She stated that the Kishori Utkarsh Manch has been organized since 2018 to empower adolescent girls through quality education, good health, and skill development. She also mentioned that the state government is actively promoting the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative to advance the position of girls in society. For a progressive society, both women and men must move forward together. She further stressed the importance of eliminating domestic violence and child marriage to build a healthy and equitable community.

Among others who spoke at the event were West Tripura Zilla Parishad’s Acting Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil and SCERT Secretary L. Darlong.
District Project Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha, Pallab Kanti Saha, explained that the aim of the event is to nurture the latent talents of adolescent girls. Over the two-day program, various competitions and activities like exhibitions, debates, and painting contests will be held. Winners from this district-level event will represent West Tripura at the state-level Kishori Utkarsh Manch.

The event was also attended by MLA Deepak Majumder, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad, Bishnudhan Das, among others.

As part of the program, renowned singer Shakti Chakraborty, writer Debabrata Debroy, and teacher Parmita Sarkar were felicitated on stage for their contributions.
