Agartala, July 12 — Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has called for the urgent completion of pending work at the Inter-state Truck Terminal in Madhavbari, Jirania, emphasizing the need for improved coordination and strict management to ensure the terminal functions efficiently.
Speaking at a meeting of the Inter-state Truck Terminal Development Society held at the terminal’s conference hall, the minister stressed the importance of timely execution and operational discipline. “All unfinished work at the terminal must be completed without delay. Efficient coordination among departments is essential to maintain order and professionalism,” Chowdhury stated.
He instructed administrative officials to maintain strict vigilance inside the terminal to prevent any untoward incidents involving truck drivers or others. Chowdhury emphasized that a well-organized and disciplined environment is critical to ensuring smooth logistics operations and enhancing the terminal’s role as a key infrastructure asset in the state.
“There must be clear coordination in the distribution of responsibilities. Professionalism and mutual cooperation are crucial for the terminal’s success,” he added.
The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including Jirania Panchayat Samiti Chairman Pritam Debnath, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Vice-Chairperson Prabir Kumar Das, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Animesh Dhar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Rural) Himadri Prasad Das, social worker Gauranga Bhowmik, and Ranjit Ray Choudhury. Members of the Terminal Development Society and representatives from the Public Works Department and other concerned departments were also present.
The Inter-state Truck Terminal at Madhavbari is envisioned as a vital transport hub aimed at easing goods movement and boosting trade logistics. With strong political and administrative push, efforts are now underway to accelerate progress and make the terminal fully operational.
