Agartala, July 14: In a significant reshuffle in the higher judiciary, the Union government on Monday cleared the transfer of Chief Justices of the High Courts of Rajasthan, Tripura, Jharkhand, and Madras.

Justice MS Ramachandra Rao, who currently heads the Jharkhand High Court, has been moved to the Tripura High Court. Meanwhile, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, the Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court, will now serve as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

These transfers were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on May 28, underscoring the ongoing process of judicial administration and balancing of leadership across various high courts.

In parallel, the Centre today also cleared the appointment of new Chief Justices to the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gauhati, Patna, and Jharkhand, further reshaping the top judiciary in several states.
