Agartala, July 18: Tripura is taking bold steps toward energy independence with the region’s first-ever 800 MW Pumped Storage Project— a landmark initiative for the entire North-East, said Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Friday in Guwahati.

Nath was addressing 29th North Eastern Region Power Committee (NERPC) meeting. He said, “Through our firm and united efforts, we have successfully shielded North Eastern states from a potential gas price hike, ensuring affordability, stability, and sustainability in the power sector.”

“Guided by the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, we remain unwavering in our commitment to clean energy, regional empowerment, and the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” Nath stated.
