Agartala, July 21: A Mega Oil Palm Plantation Drive was launched on Monday at Taltala in the Bamutia Assembly Constituency. Addressing the gathering, Minister Ratan Lal Nath urged local farmers to come forward and adopt oil palm cultivation, which holds immense potential for economic upliftment.

Highlighting the importance of self-reliance in edible oil production, the Minister noted that a national-level oil palm-focused mission was launched in 2021. Although Tripura implemented the project in the 2022–23 financial year, the initiative has gained remarkable momentum in recent times.
