Agartala, August 6: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday emphasized that quality education is the primary goal of the state government and stressed the importance of values like social service and empathy alongside academic knowledge.

Dr Saha distributed textbooks among the underprivileged and meritorious students here in a function, organized by Sri Sri Baba Loknath Sebashram.

The Chief Minister observed that ignorance can only be eradicated through true education, and that a child’s first teacher is their mother. He also called upon the younger generation to cultivate a mindset of serving others while pursuing formal education.

During the programme, the Chief Minister formally handed over textbooks to 10 students, as a symbolic gesture. In total, textbooks were distributed to 95 students of Class XI from 19 schools affiliated with TBSE and CBSE.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s continued efforts to improve educational infrastructure and academic quality across Tripura. He noted that under the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the state is making significant strides in higher education as well.

The Chief Minister assured that further steps would be taken to enhance opportunities for higher education and urged students to gain knowledge not just for personal growth but also to raise Tripura’s name at the international level.
