Agartala, August 7: A review meeting was held today at Conference Hall No. 3 of the State Secretariat to assess the current status of the previously taken decision to paint a “pink panel” on the front of all metered auto-rickshaws operating under the Agartala Municipal Area.

The meeting was chaired by a senior official and attended by the Secretary of the Transport Department, the Transport Commissioner, the IG (Law & Order), senior officials from the police and traffic departments, senior officers from the Transport Department, and leaders of various workers’ unions from the city and suburban areas.

The meeting aimed to evaluate the implementation of the pink panel initiative, which is intended to bring uniformity and visibility to registered auto-rickshaws operating within city limits.

In addition, the chairperson listened to the demands and concerns raised by representatives of auto-rickshaw workers’ unions and instructed department officials to take necessary steps to resolve their issues promptly and effectively.

The session emphasized coordination between enforcement agencies, transport authorities, and stakeholders to ensure smooth public transport operations and enhanced commuter safety.
