Agartala, Aug 17: A tragic accident claimed the lives of newly wedded Dibakar Ghosh and his wife Priyanka Ghosh while they were returning home after offering prayers at the Kamalasagar Kasbeswari Temple on Sunday afternoon.

Dibakar, accompanied by his wife Priyanka, his parents, and his aunt, had visited the temple earlier in the day. After performing the rituals, Dibakar suggested that his parents and aunt return home in another vehicle while he and his wife visited the Bishalgarh Noukaghat area on their scooter (TR 01 AW 9205) before heading back.

As his parents and aunt followed in another vehicle, Dibakar’s father, Phatik Ghosh, noticed a large crowd gathered near the Gokulnagar TSR camp. On stepping out, he was devastated to see his son and daughter-in-law lying on the road in a pool of blood.

TSR personnel immediately rushed Dibakar to Hapania Medical College and Hospital, while Priyanka was taken to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. Sadly, doctors at Bishalgarh declared Priyanka dead on arrival. Moments later, Dibakar too was announced dead by doctors at Hapania.

The sudden demise of the young couple has left their families inconsolable. Dibakar was the only son of Phatik Ghosh, while Priyanka was the only daughter in her family. Dibakar was employed with Tripura Gramin Bank in Belonia.
