Agartala, Aug 21: The opposition CPI(M) on Thursday accused the BJP led coalition government in Tripura and alleged irregularities in the ongoing project works under the Agartala Smart City Mission.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala on Thursday, the former urban development minister Manik Dey alleged irregularities and shortcomings in the implementation of the project.

Former MP Shankar Prasad Dutta, CPI(M) state committee member Amal Chakraborty, and party leader Samay Chakraborty and others were present in the press conference.

Dey criticized the current administration for what they described as a lack of transparency and accountability in handling the project.

“Not a single work included in the smart city project starting from drinking water facility to ensure proper footpaths in city, is done in a proper manager so far,” Dey alleged, adding that during the time of Left front, large number of hawkers were rehabilitated, whereas the present government has failed to act so.
