Agartala, Aug 26: Education is the path that leads a person from ignorance to knowledge, and it is through education that one’s inner strength is truly developed, said Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while addressing the Chief Minister’s Annual State Award for Academic Excellence ceremony at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister noted that the state government has been working tirelessly to provide quality education to the youth through a range of initiatives, along with strengthening educational infrastructure across the state. “As a result, our children are now able to pursue higher education within the state itself,” he said.
Encouraging the awardees, Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of setting goals and nurturing dreams. “One must remember that the key to fulfilling dreams lies within oneself. With patience, dedication, hard work, and true education, success is inevitable,” he remarked.
He further stated that the purpose of this award is to inspire and motivate students. “Education should not be confined to textbooks alone. Its true essence is realized when one comes forward to stand by people and contribute to society. As the Hon’ble Prime Minister often reminds us, the youth are one of the greatest assets of our nation. If we can harness their potential through proper education, the nation will surely progress,” Dr. Saha added.
Highlighting the talent in the state, the Chief Minister asserted that Tripura’s students lack neither merit nor potential, but require the right planning and opportunities to excel. “The state government is working in this direction,” he assured.
The event was also addressed by Education Department Director N.C. Sharma. Among the dignitaries present were Special Secretary of Education Ravel Hemendra Kumar and SCERT Director L. Darlong.
This year, 228 top-performing students from various government, government-aided, and Vidyajyoti schools in the Class 10 and 12 examinations were selected for the Chief Minister’s Annual State Award for Academic Excellence. As part of the award, each recipient will be given a tablet device. Symbolically, the Chief Minister presented tablets and certificates to five students on stage.
