The programme is being organized by the Directorate of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Tripura, and will be graced by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Members of Parliament, and other dignitaries. The recognition comes as part of the nationwide observance of National Sports Day, held annually on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
