Agartala, September 2: The state agriculture and farmers welfare minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday emphasized the pivotal role of farmers in shaping the future of the nation, describing them as the “lifeblood of development.” Speaking at a large-scale palm oil plantation programme in Fatikchhara, Mohanpur, he underlined the importance of agricultural initiatives in ensuring food security and economic self-reliance.
The Minister said that through palm oil cultivation, Tripura is sowing the seeds of new hope. He noted that the state is progressing on the path of sustainable development by integrating agriculture, tourism, horticulture, fisheries, solar power, and forest resources.
“Every grain of soil and every drop of labour is building the golden dream of self-reliance,” he remarked, adding that the government’s vision extends beyond Tripura to contribute to India’s self-sufficiency in edible oil production.
He further stated that today’s initiative would serve as the foundation of tomorrow’s prosperity. “With faith in the power of farmers, we are moving forward towards holistic development,” he concluded.
