Agartala, Sep 04: The Tripura government is gearing up to execute the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, a flagship national initiative designed to strengthen welfare measures and boost capacity-building among tribal communities, said District Magistrate of West Tripura District Dr. Vishal Kumar on Thursday.
Briefing the reporters regarding the objective and execution pan of the scheme, the DM said that the programme aims to enhance skill development, livelihood opportunities, and socio-economic empowerment of tribal populations across the state.
The scheme will focus on training tribal youth in modern skill sets while also preserving and promoting traditional knowledge systems, he said, adding that the tribal people across the state will be made to bring out an action plan at village for the development of their communities and accordingly the scheme will be executed. Specific training will be given to the villagers regarding tribal rights and tribal development related sectors, he told reporters.
He said, “As part of the scheme, we shall roll out Sewa Parv abhiyan across the state from September 17 till October 2 next.” The DM also said that through the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, the government is intended to build capacity, create self-reliance, and integrate tribal communities into mainstream development without compromising their cultural heritage.
The Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan is part of the central government’s larger vision to empower tribal societies across the North Eastern region and other parts of the country.
