Agartala, Tripura | September 2025 – The 1st National Changemakers Meet 2025, held from 4 to 7 September 2025 and hosted by Banas Dairy, Gujarat with the support of the India Foundation, brought together visionaries, social innovators, grassroots leaders, and young changemakers from across India to celebrate ideas and actions that are reshaping the nation’s future. The landmark event served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and collective action on pressing issues ranging from environment and education to entrepreneurship, social justice, and community empowerment.
The meet was marked by enriching sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Participants shared success stories and innovative models of change that have transformed local communities and inspired wider movements.
A key highlight of the event was the recognition of Changemakers from 27 states of India, who are driving transformation in diverse walks of life. Representing Tripura, Dr. Sunil Kalai, founder and president of MONDRA (a social welfare society) and an academician with a multifaceted profile, received special appreciation for his entrepreneurial work in agriculture and integrated farming. His hybrid model of practice and documentation, which bridges hands-on farming innovation with academic research and storytelling, was acknowledged as a replicable model for sustainable development and community empowerment.
The meet also underscored the role of youth and grassroots initiatives in advancing sustainable development. It emphasized collaboration across sectors—government, academia, civil society, and business—to scale impact at both regional and national levels.
