Agartala, Sep 13: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Saturday described the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as a “powerful and visionary roadmap” aimed at restoring India’s traditional glory and establishing the nation as a Vishwaguru.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a two-day workshop on NEP 2020, organized by the Department of Sanskrit, Tripura University, at the MBB Auditorium.
“NEP 2020 has been framed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a strategic national goal. It is designed for the holistic development of individuals while building an education system rooted in Indian values. The policy ensures that students are equipped to excel in the competitive global market,” the Governor said.
Highlighting the features of the policy, he added that it is flexible and multidisciplinary, encourages Indian languages and knowledge systems, and seeks to integrate traditional wisdom with modern technology.
Tripura’s Higher Education Minister, Kishore Barman, also addressed the workshop, calling NEP 2020 a “pathbreaking reform” that will significantly benefit students.
Tripura University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shyamal Das, Prof. Rajsharan Shahi, Dean of Education at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, and other dignitaries were present.
