Agartala, Sept 20: The CPI(M) state secretary and also the party’s politburo member Jitendra Chaudhury on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP after the alleged vandalism of the party’s Pratapgarh local office in Agartala.
Chaudhury, who visited the site, claimed that BJP-backed individuals used a bulldozer to damage the office around 2 pm. “The barbarity of RSS and BJP in Tripura has reached alarming levels. After seven years in power, this government has eroded democratic rights and failed to maintain law and order. Citizens are now speaking out against their mismanagement,” he alleged.
Terming the BJP “cowards,” Chaudhury said the party avoids direct confrontation. “They carry out attacks under the cover of night and call it development and governance. In reality, they are undermining democracy every day,” he remarked.
The CPIM leader vowed to continue the struggle against the ruling party, asserting that the attacks would not intimidate them. He further stated that evidence of the incident would be submitted to the police to ensure accountability.
