Agartala, Sept 20: Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Saturday distributed traditional Rignai-Risha and Pachra to nearly 200 tribal women at an event held at Tuithampui High School in Manikbazar.
The programme was organized by Krishnapur BJP Mandal No. 29 and attended by MDC Bidyut Debbarma, BJP Mandal General Secretary Watharai Molsum, and other party leaders. The garments were distributed from the personal fund of the MDC.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Debbarma accused previous governments of neglecting the poor during festive seasons. “Neither CPI(M) nor Congress extended support to the underprivileged during Durga Puja. The BJP government has always stood beside tribal and poor communities,” he said.

The event also carried a symbolic message of preserving tribal culture while welcoming the festive season.
