Agartala, Sept 22: Animal Resources Development and Social Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Monday attended a virtual meeting at the Secretariat Conference Hall in the presence of Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Minister of State S.P. Singh Baghel, along with senior officials from the Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD).

During the meeting, Minister Das emphasized the importance of strengthening infrastructure, enhancing productivity, and extending greater support to farmers and livestock rearers in Tripura.

“The development of the Animal Resources sector is crucial not only for ensuring food security but also for generating livelihoods and supporting rural farmers. We are committed to implementing initiatives that will empower livestock farmers and boost the state’s economy,” said Das.

The discussions focused on future strategies for sustainable animal husbandry, improved veterinary services, and better facilities for farmers. Special emphasis was placed on the role of modern infrastructure and technology in raising productivity in the sector.

Officials highlighted that strengthening the animal resources sector would significantly contribute to livelihood generation, food self-sufficiency, and overall rural development in Tripura.
