State BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Friday took part in a plantation programme under the nationwide campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College in Agartala. The initiative, which emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation and community participation, was organized with the support of Tripura Gramin Bank.

As part of the event, Bhattacharjee also unveiled a newly installed Tower Clock on the MBB College campus, marking a blend of tradition, modernity, and commitment to sustainability. The clock is expected to serve as both a functional utility and a symbolic addition to the historic campus.

Speaking at the occasion, Bhattacharjee hailed the plantation drive as “a wonderful step towards greenery and growth.” He highlighted the need for collective responsibility in tackling climate change and stressed that such initiatives encourage citizens to actively participate in environmental protection.

The BJP leader praised the MBB College campus for its scenic beauty and sustainable practices, pointing out that it has earned recognition across Tripura for preserving its lush green environment. “The campus is not just an educational institution but a landmark that reflects a balance of development and nature. It stands as an inspiration for visitors and students alike,” he said.

The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, who joined hands in planting saplings across the college grounds. Organizers emphasized that the campaign seeks to create a culture of tree planting dedicated to one’s mother, linking emotional values with environmental action.

The event concluded with a call for long-term commitment to nurturing the saplings and ensuring that the green legacy continues for future generations.Rajib Bhattacharjee Launches ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Drive, Unveils Tower Clock at MBB CollegeState BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Friday took part in a plantation programme under the nationwide campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College in Agartala.
