Chennai, November 8:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin will convene a crucial meeting with the party’s district secretaries on Sunday to discuss the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls being conducted across the state by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The meeting, scheduled for 10 a.m. via video conference, will be chaired by Stalin from the party headquarters Anna Arivalayam in Chennai. It will include Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and constituency observers from all districts.

According to a statement issued by DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan, the agenda of the meeting is to review the progress of the electoral roll revision and to formulate a coordinated response to ensure fairness and transparency in the process.

The DMK has raised concerns that the voter list revision exercise could be politically motivated, alleging that it may lead to the exclusion of minority communities and anti-BJP voters. The party has therefore decided to closely monitor the enumeration process at the grassroots level through its local cadres.

“The Chief Minister will interact with all district-level leaders to ensure that the rights of genuine voters are safeguarded,” Duraimurugan said. “The party will take every possible step to prevent irregularities and ensure transparency throughout the revision process.”

Party sources said the meeting is also aimed at mobilising the DMK’s organisational machinery to oversee the verification of voter rolls and report any discrepancies to the Election Commission.

The upcoming session is expected to serve as a strategic platform for the DMK leadership to consolidate its approach ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where electoral integrity has become a contentious political issue.
