Agartala: December 08: A series of flight cancellations by IndiGo has caused fresh disruptions for passengers travelling to and from Agartala. According to updates issued for December 8 and 9, several key routes connecting Agartala to Kolkata, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Silchar and Delhi have been suspended, raising concerns of further cancellations in the coming days.

For December 8, 2025, IndiGo has cancelled the following flights:

  • 6171 (CCU–IXA) and its return flight 6172 (IXA–CCU).
This cancellation affected passengers travelling between Agartala and Kolkata, one of the busiest routes for the airline.

For December 9, 2025, the list of cancelled flights is significantly longer, including both arrivals and departures:

  1. 2154 (GAU–IXA) / 491 (IXA–CCU)
  2. 524 (BLR–IXA) / 524 (IXA–IXS)
  3. 6173 (CCU–IXA) / 6825 (IXA–DEL)
  4. 525 (IXS–IXA) / 525 (IXA–BLR)
  5. 6171 (CCU–IXA) / 6172 (IXA–CCU)

These cancellations have impacted passengers connecting from major cities such as Kolkata, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Silchar. The repeated cancellation of flights 6171/6172 for two consecutive days has added to growing uncertainty among travellers who rely on the Agartala–Kolkata sector for urgent and regular travel.

Sources indicate that operational challenges may continue, and more flights on the Agartala route could be cancelled in the coming hours. Passengers are advised to check their flight status frequently and coordinate with the airline for rescheduling or refunds.

IndiGo’s ongoing disruptions have once again highlighted the vulnerability of air connectivity in the Northeast, where limited flight options often leave travellers with few alternatives when cancellations occur.
