The event was organised by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, Government of Tripura, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s greatest spiritual leaders and thinkers.

The programme was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, senior government officials, students, and a large number of young participants from across the state. The presence of youth in significant numbers added vibrancy and purpose to the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha underscored the crucial role of youth in shaping the future of the nation. He stated that the energy, discipline, innovation, and determination of young people are essential for achieving the goals of “New Tripura, New India” and “Viksit Bharat.” The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a devoted follower of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals, India is steadily emerging as a strong and self-reliant nation in sectors such as economy, defence, technology, and infrastructure.

Highlighting India’s demographic strength, Dr. Saha pointed out that a large segment of the population falls within the 18–25 age group, representing immense human resource potential. He stressed that youth must strive not only for physical fitness but also for moral strength, discipline, and a sense of social responsibility.

Calling upon young citizens to imbibe the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, the Chief Minister urged them to remain confident, fearless, and dedicated to serving society and the nation. He said the ideals of character, courage, and self-belief are more relevant than ever in today’s times.

The event also witnessed the felicitation of state and national award-winning youths, with certificates, prizes, and cheques distributed in recognition of their outstanding achievements. National Youth Day, observed annually on January 12, serves as a reminder of Swami Vivekananda’s timeless message and inspires India’s youth to actively contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
