The Soft Skills and Interview Preparedness (SSIP) programme is a flagship initiative of the Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Tripura, implemented as a key component of the EEE (English, Entrepreneurship & Employability) Programme. The initiative is designed to strengthen the employability potential of college-going youth by equipping them with essential soft skills, professional behavior, and interview readiness required in today’s competitive job market.

SSIP is being offered to students of Government Degree Colleges across Tripura with the objective of bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The programme focuses on enhancing communication skills, workplace etiquette, teamwork, confidence building, and effective interview techniques, thereby preparing students for successful entry into the world of work.

In its pilot phase, the SSIP course will be delivered to 200 students through a fully online mode, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for learners across the state. The course structure comprises 28 well-designed sessions, each of 20 minutes duration, making the learning experience concise, engaging, and easy to assimilate. The sessions are interactive and practical in nature, encouraging active participation and real-world application of skills.

Based on the outcomes and feedback from the pilot phase, the programme is planned to be scaled up to reach 900 students from Government Degree Colleges across Tripura. This expansion reflects the Government of Tripura’s commitment to creating a skilled, confident, and job-ready youth population.

Through SSIP, students will gain not only technical preparedness for interviews but also the professional mindset and soft skills necessary to thrive in modern workplaces. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance employability among college students and contribute meaningfully to the state’s broader vision of youth empowerment, skill development, and sustainable employment generation.
