New Delhi: In a significant step towards strengthening Tripura’s institutional presence in the national capital, Hon’ble Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha today laid the foundation stone for the Extension Project of Tripura Bhavan at Bir Tikendrajit Marg, New Delhi. The project aims to enhance accommodation and functional facilities for officials, dignitaries, and visitors from the state.

The proposed extension project includes the construction of six additional rooms and two hall rooms, designed to meet the growing requirements of Tripura Bhavan. The project is estimated to cost Rs 2.95 crore and is expected to significantly improve infrastructure and hospitality services, thereby facilitating smoother coordination between the state and central government offices.

The foundation-laying ceremony witnessed the presence of several eminent dignitaries, reflecting the importance of the project. Among those present were the Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Ramprasad Pal; Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee; Minister for Social Welfare Tinku Roy; Minister for Higher Education Kishore Barman; Minister for Industries and Commerce Santana Chakma; Minister for Tribal Welfare Bikash Debbarma; Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare Sudhangshu Das; and MLA Bhagaban Das. CRC Manoj Kumar and other senior officials and distinguished guests also attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized the strategic importance of Tripura Bhavan in New Delhi as a vital link between the state and the Union Government. He stated that the extension project would not only address accommodation constraints but also enhance the efficiency of official engagements, meetings, and public services.

The expansion of Tripura Bhavan is aligned with the state government’s broader vision of strengthening administrative infrastructure and ensuring better representation of Tripura at the national level. Once completed, the project is expected to provide improved facilities for legislators, officers, and citizens visiting the capital, further reinforcing Tripura’s presence in New Delhi.
