Agartala, Jan 29Tipra Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Thursday emphasized responding to political criticism with goodwill rather than hostility, asserting he harbours no hatred towards anyone in Tripura.

Debbarman made these remarks at a programme organised by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, where 161 electric rickshaws were distributed to unemployed youths to promote self-employment and improve livelihood opportunities in the ADC areas.

Addressing reporters, Debbarman said he loves all people of Tripura and does not wish to spread hatred. Without naming any political party, he noted that certain groups often make remarks driven by political interests. “Those who hate me for political reasons will be met with love, and I will try to bring about change through that,” he stated.

The e-rickshaw initiative aims to enhance income prospects and self-employment opportunities among youths. Debbarman added that an additional 1,600 auto-rickshaws will be provided in phases in the near future under the same programme.

The event was attended by senior ADC leaders, including TTAADC Chief Executive Member Purna Chandra Jamatia, Minister Brishaketu Debbarma, Executive Member Kamal Kalai, and MLA Ranjit Debbarma, along with Debbarman’s mother, Bibhu Kumari Devi.

Debbarman highlighted multiple ongoing development initiatives by the ADC aimed at strengthening livelihoods in rural and tribal areas, countering claims that no development activities were taking place. He also outlined future plans to establish cold storage facilities for farmers, expand employment linked to tourism, and provide passenger vehicles to enhance connectivity and livelihood options.

Through this initiative, Debbarman reinforced his commitment to inclusive growth, youth empowerment, and sustainable development in Tripura, underlining that constructive engagement and goodwill are key to addressing political differences while promoting social and economic progress in the region.
