Agartala, February 8:
Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee on Sunday formally inaugurated a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification project at Math Chowmuhani Bazaar under the Banamalipur Assembly constituency. The project has been implemented with the support of Tripura Natural Gas Company Ltd. and aims to provide safe and purified drinking water to the large number of people who frequent the busy marketplace every day.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration ceremony, Bhattacharjee said the initiative was funded under his Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MP-LADS). He highlighted that access to clean drinking water is a basic necessity and an essential component of public health. “With the installation of this RO water purification unit, traders, pedestrians, daily wage earners, and local residents will now have easy access to safe drinking water. This will significantly contribute to their health and overall well-being,” he said.

The BJP leader also underlined the importance of maintaining peace, cleanliness, and social harmony in Math Chowmuhani Bazaar, which is one of the most prominent and crowded commercial hubs in Agartala. He urged local leaders, market committee members, traders, and residents to collectively take responsibility for preserving the sanctity of the area.

Expressing concern over the menace of drug abuse, Bhattacharjee appealed to all stakeholders to remain vigilant and ensure that the market area remains free from drug peddling and other illegal activities. “Only through united and sustained efforts can we realize the vision of a drug-free Tripura,” he said, calling for active public cooperation in the fight against drugs.

The inauguration was warmly welcomed by traders and local residents, who expressed gratitude for the initiative. They said the new water purification facility would not only improve public health but also enhance the overall environment and convenience of the market, benefiting thousands of visitors every day.
