A District-Level Credit Outreach Campaign 2.0 focusing on Agriculture, MSME and Retail loans was successfully organised by Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) at Tripura Students’ Health Home Hall, Colonel Mahim Thakur Sarani, Agartala, covering West Tripura and Khowai districts.
The programme was graced by several distinguished dignitaries. Shri Santosh Das, Director of Fisheries, Government of Tripura, attended as the Chief Guest. Other prominent attendees included Sri Arup Deb, Additional District Magistrate of West District; Sri Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank; Sri Sujit Roy, Regional Manager of TGB, West District; and Dr. Pranajit Paul, Chief Manager of TGB’s Agartala Branch.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 200 beneficiaries representing various sectors across the districts. During the programme, loan sanction letters under Agriculture, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and Retail segments were formally handed over to selected beneficiaries by the dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers underscored the crucial role of institutional credit in accelerating growth in agriculture and allied activities, strengthening MSMEs, and promoting retail entrepreneurship. They highlighted how timely access to formal banking services can empower farmers, small entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals to expand operations, adopt modern technologies and improve productivity.
The bank officials elaborated on various loan schemes offered by Tripura Gramin Bank, including credit support tailored for fisheries, agribusiness, small trade, and individual retail needs. Beneficiaries were encouraged to make optimal use of available financial assistance to achieve sustainable economic progress and improve their livelihoods.
Chairman Satyendra Singh reiterated the bank’s commitment to expanding credit outreach at the grassroots level and ensuring financial inclusion for all eligible segments of society. He emphasised that such campaigns help bridge the gap between financial institutions and potential borrowers, fostering trust and awareness about banking products.
The programme concluded with an interactive session between bank officials and beneficiaries, where queries related to loan procedures, eligibility criteria and repayment norms were addressed. The successful conduct of the outreach campaign reaffirmed TGB’s dedication to supporting inclusive growth and strengthening the rural and semi-urban economy of Tripura through proactive credit delivery initiatives.
