Agartala, March 19, 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, marking the beginning of the Indian New Year Vikram Samvat 2083, ABRSM Tripura (College Education) organised a lecture programme at Ramthakur College in Agartala.
The event witnessed participation from around 70 teachers, including the college principal, along with members of the organisation such as office bearers, executive committee members, and general members. The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to the portrait of Goddess Saraswati, followed by a rendition of Saraswati Vandana.
General Secretary of the organisation, Debasish Roy Choudhury, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and conveyed New Year greetings. The Principal of Ramthakur College, Dr. Haradhan Saha, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance and objectives of organising such an event.
The keynote address was delivered by Rajesh Lohar, Vibhag Pracharak (Khowai and West Tripura) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In his lecture, he elaborated on the importance of celebrating the Indian New Year in the present social context. He spoke extensively about various aspects of the Indian way of life, emphasizing core values such as ethical conduct, work culture, spiritual consciousness, and a sense of responsibility towards family, society, and the environment.
The President of ABRSM Tripura (College Education), Tirtharam Reang, also addressed the audience, shedding light on the multifaceted significance of the occasion.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Secretary Shyamsundar Sarkar, followed by the chanting of the Kalyan Mantra. The entire event was conducted in a solemn and dignified atmosphere, reflecting the cultural and spiritual essence of the occasion.
