NIELIT Agartala organised its annual cultural festival, “Rendezvous 4.0”, at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Town Hall on April 25, bringing together students, faculty members and distinguished guests for a day of academic recognition and cultural celebration. The event highlighted the institute’s commitment to fostering a balanced environment that encourages both scholastic achievement and extracurricular engagement.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by NIELIT Agartala Director Niladri Das, who greeted the attendees and emphasised the importance of integrating academic pursuits with cultural and sports activities. He noted that such events play a vital role in nurturing creativity, teamwork and leadership among students.

A key highlight of the festival was the distribution of prizes to students for academic excellence, as well as awards for winners of various sports competitions conducted by the institute. Officials stated that these recognitions aim to motivate students to excel across disciplines and actively participate in campus life beyond the classroom.

The festival also featured a vibrant lineup of cultural performances, including music, dance and other artistic presentations by students. These performances added colour and energy to the event, showcasing the diverse talents within the student community.

The programme was attended by several prominent academicians and institutional leaders. Among the guests were B K Upadhyaya, Principal of Tripura Institute of Technology; Mrinal Kanti Debbarma, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Agartala; Swanirbhar Majumdar, Head of the Department of Information Technology at Tripura University; Sajal Kanta Das, Principal of Dhalai District Polytechnic; Suraj Debbarma, Principal of TTAADC Polytechnic; and Prasun Dutta, Principal of North Tripura District Polytechnic.

Assistant Professor Nirmalya Kar from NIT Agartala and other invited dignitaries were also present, adding academic significance to the occasion.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming NIELIT Agartala’s dedication to holistic education by promoting academic excellence, sportsmanship and cultural expression among its students.
