A solemn tribute was paid to the late Biswa Bandhu Sen, a veteran leader of Tripura politics and former Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, at a special prayer ceremony held at the Ram Thakur Temple in Dharmanagar. The event was marked by deep reverence and remembrance, reflecting the respect he commanded across political and social circles.

The ceremony, held on Friday, was organised to pray for the eternal peace of the departed leader’s soul. Several dignitaries, party leaders, admirers and members of the public attended the programme to pay their respects and honour his legacy. Among those present was Minister for ARDD, Fisheries and SC Welfare Department, Sudhangshu Das.

Minister Das offered floral tributes at the feet of the late Biswa Bandhu Sen and recalled his immense contribution to the political and democratic institutions of Tripura. Speaking at the gathering, the minister described Sen as a towering personality in the state’s political landscape, whose demise has created a deep and irreplaceable void.

“Biswa Bandhu Sen was a distinguished leader and an able Speaker who always upheld democratic values and parliamentary traditions. His passing is a great loss not only to Tripura but to public life as a whole. I pray to the Almighty for the eternal peace of his soul,” Minister Das said, expressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Speakers at the ceremony highlighted Sen’s long and dedicated service to the people of Tripura. As a seasoned politician and former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, he was widely respected for his integrity, discipline and commitment to democratic principles. His calm demeanour and impartial conduct in the Assembly earned him admiration from leaders across party lines.

The prayer ceremony concluded with collective prayers seeking peace for the departed soul. Participants remembered Biswa Bandhu Sen as a leader who devoted his life to public service and governance, leaving behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations in Tripura’s political journey.
