Despite persistent adverse weather conditions across Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has announced that Anganwadi centres, schools, and colleges will remain open for the time being. The decision was taken after a comprehensive review meeting held at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, during which the Chief Minister assessed the overall situation caused by continuous rainfall and gusty winds affecting several parts of the state.
Dr. Saha stated that while the weather has disrupted normal life in some areas, the situation is currently under control. He reassured citizens that the state administration is fully alert and prepared to respond promptly if conditions deteriorate further. Emphasizing the need for vigilance, he directed all departments to prioritize public safety, ensure timely relief measures, and maintain seamless coordination across districts.
Highlighting the importance of a unified response, the Chief Minister noted that district administrations, the Tripura State Disaster Management Authority (TSDMA), and law enforcement agencies are working in close coordination to manage the situation effectively. He stressed that integrated disaster management efforts are crucial to minimize risks and ensure the swift restoration of normalcy wherever disruptions have occurred.
Tragically, one fatality has been reported from the Longtharai Valley area. Expressing deep concern over the loss of life, Dr. Saha instructed officials to provide immediate financial assistance to the bereaved family and extend all necessary support to those affected by the adverse weather conditions.
Although educational institutions will continue to function as of now, the government remains on high alert, closely monitoring developments across the state. Authorities have been instructed to stay prepared for any emergency situation, with relief and rescue teams ready to be deployed at short notice.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the safety and well-being of citizens remain the government’s top priority. He assured that every precautionary measure is being taken to protect lives and property, while urging people to stay cautious and follow official advisories during this period of inclement weather.
