Agartala: April 19: On Saturday, at the PN Complex in Gorkhabasti, Tripura’s Finance Minister, Pranajit Singh Roy, handed over appointment letters to 11 individuals for positions in the Finance Department, including roles in small savings, group insurance, and institutional finance inspection. A ceremony was organized around the distribution of these job offers.

While addressing the event, Minister Pranajit Singh Roy stated that the state government is committed to filling vacant positions in various departments. However, questions have often been raised about delays in the recruitment process. In response, the government assures the unemployed that jobs are being provided transparently, adhering to all rules and regulations, ensuring that no one loses their job due to government errors.

The minister further mentioned that there are currently no chit funds operating in the state. The properties of chit funds that illegally collected money from state customers have been sold, and the proceeds have been deposited into the state government’s fund. This money will later be distributed among those who were defrauded.

For the 2024-25 fiscal year, the target for the small savings scheme was set at ₹1,024 crore, but ₹1,075 crore was collected. A total of 1,119 SAS agents and 2,247 MPKBY agents are working across the state, contributing to the collection of small savings, according to the minister. The event was attended by the Finance Department Secretary, Apurba Roy, along with other officials.
