Agartala, April 20: In yet another anti narcotic drive, the Police of Kailasahar subdivision on Sunday seized at least 68 packets of dry Ganja packets worth around Rs 5 lakh from a vehicle and detained one person in this connection.

The incident took place on Sunday evening, after the police led by SDPO Utpalendu Debnath and OC of Kailasahar police station Sukanta Sen Chowdhury intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number TR01C3470 and conducted search inside the vehicle.

During the search in operation, police seized at least 68 packets of dry Ganja packets from the vehicle, police said, adding that the driver of the vehicle Litan Das was detained in this connection. The SDPO said that the vehicle, which was heading towards Kailasahar city from Fatikroy was intercepted at Kailasahar Singerbill area.

Reportedly, the detained driver Litan Das was engaged to smuggling of Ganja since long and on Sunday he was supposed to smuggle the seized Ganjas to neighbour Silchar in Assam.
